We offer both 5 and 10 year Building Envelope Remediation warranties.
Building Envelope Renovations in British Columbia are protected by 2-5 warranty insurance as set out by the Homeowner Protection Act Renovation Regulation. Mandatory warranty insurance includes the following minimum standards of coverage:
2 years coverage on labour and materials as follows:
24 months for any defect in materials and labour and for non-compliance with the building code*.
5 and optional 10 years coverage on building envelope as follows:
5 and optional 10 years coverage for defects in the building envelope renovation, including a defect which permits unintended water penetration that causes, or is likely to cause material damage to the residential building.
*Non-compliance with the building code is considered a defect if the non-compliance constitutes an unreasonable health or safety risk, or has resulted in, or is likely to result in, material damage to the residential building.
