Our field inspectors thoroughly examine every home registered by your builder under the National Home Warranty program. This process assures both you and your builder that another set of experienced eyes is overseeing your condominium, at every step along the way.

Secure Backing

In Alberta, National Home Warranty is underwritten by one of the largest insurance companies in the world. The Aviva Insurance Company of Canada, in partnership with National Home Warranty provides you with solid, secure warranty coverage.

Deposit Protection

When you decide to buy a new condominium from a builder registered with National Home Warranty, up to $50,000 of your initial deposit to the builder may be covered. Deposit Protection is available as soon as you have registered your deposit with National Home Warranty. Once registered, this deposit protection is in place until the moment construction is underway. You can buy with confidence knowing your down payment is secure.

Completion Protection

The money you have invested in your new condominium is secure even after construction has started. National Home Warranty also protects your investment up to a maximum of $50,000 from the start of construction until you take possession of your new condominium. There is even a provision that covers as much as $3,000 of legal fees to rid any unwanted liens against your title.

Materials And Workmanship

Defects in materials and workmanship are covered by your warranty for the first year you are in your new condominium. Under the terms of your limited construction warranty, your builder will rectify any defects due to faulty materials or poor workmanship in your condominium.

Your builder will also remedy eligible workmanship and materials defects in common property areas during the first year. In the unlikely event that you have any dispute with your builder with respect to your one-year warranty, the National offers conciliation and arbitration services.

Structural Defect Coverage

This coverage is for structural defects in your new condominium during the first five years. Your limited construction warranty includes protection for defects in a load bearing structure of your condominium. The combined one-year and five-year warranties provide coverage to a maximum of $50,000. This warranty includes protection on the overall condominium project (common property and all units) to a maximum of $2 million.
